Join the Voyageur Canoe Tour for a Sunset Paddle Social Event
Paddle a Voyageur Canoe at sunset is a rewarding experience. Watch the sun disappearing behind the city, from the seat of a canoe. Take as many pictures as you can, to catch this unforgettable view. Enjoy the lake, the outdoors, and good company of fellow paddlers.
We will be meeting at 6:30 pm at The Otter Guy Water Taxi located at 5 Queen's Quay West. Please come on time to meet your organizer, sign waiver forms and get to know each other. At 7pm, the group will be shuttled to the Toronto Islands where they will meet their canoe guides and prepare for the canoeing program. After, some introductions, you will be introduced into paddling the Voyageur Canoes, get life-jackets and paddles. At around 7:30 we will be departing for a paddle around the islands' lagoons and visit some of the most important landmarks of the Toronto Islands Archipelago. You will see The Bird Sanctuary, The Historical Lighthouse, will paddle by some of the houses of the unique Algonquin Island community, navigate your way through a narrow passage by the Snake Island and more. For the Sunset viewing and Photo Opportunities, we will be taking you into the Toronto Harbour. After watching the sunset, we will be coming back to the Centre Island for disembarking our canoes. To return to the mainland you will be taking the Centre Island Ferry.
This program includes: The Water Taxi to the islands, the guided canoe tour, and the ferry ride back to the city.
The duration of the program is about 2.5 hrs.
Please bring with you: comfortable cloth; bottle of water; snack.
